Cut the white border off scans, the wide margins around slides or the scanner bed around a small document. Draw the crop on the page or type the margins, and apply it to every page of every file. Your PDFs stay on your computer.

From the recording
1 file went in and Hangar wrote 1 file. It is the same run as in the recording, with the real names and sizes. Your originals are never changed.

How it works
Drop the files to crop. The same margins work best on files laid out alike, such as scans from one scanner.
Drag the frame in the Crop Studio, or type Left, Right, Top and Bottom in millimeters or points. Give an odd page its own crop with This page.
Each file is saved with -cropped in its name. Click View to make sure no header or page number was cut off.
New to Hangar? How to run a tool, step by step
Choose how to set it
The margin fields, the Crop Studio frame and per-page crops all set the same thing: how far in from each edge the page ends. The area outside is hidden, not deleted.
One number trims all four edges equally.
Best for even white borders on scans.
Draw the frame once in the Crop Studio for every page.
Best for slides and scans with the content off-center.
One page gets its own crop, the rest follow the main one.
Best for a wide table or a sideways page.

The alternative
Preview on a Mac can crop pages by eye, and an online cropper handles a single file. For exact margins across a batch, here is the difference.
Who uses it
Crop A4 scans of small notes and cards down to the paper itself.
Trim exported slides so the content fills the page on screen.
Tighten wide print margins so papers read larger on a laptop or tablet.
One app, one payment
The same app merges, splits, signs, redacts and reads scanned PDFs, and does the same kind of work for images, video and audio. One payment covers every tool.
A typical routine
Crop the slides to their content. Then export every page as an image and compress the images for the web.
Every tool is free for 3 days, with no account and no card. After that, Hangar is a one-time payment from $45, with updates for the version you buy. There is no subscription.
No. The area outside the crop stays in the file, so the size barely changes. Run Compress PDF to make it smaller.
Bleed settings are removed from cropped pages. If a print shop needs bleed, crop in the app that made the file instead.
No. The content outside the crop is hidden, not removed. Apps that extract text can still read it, so use Redact PDF to remove anything private. Hangar cannot widen a crop again, so crop your original instead.
Yes. Set a crop for the whole document and override individual pages that need a different one.
Yes. The margins map to the right edges based on each page rotation, so a sideways page crops as you would expect.
No. Your files are processed on your computer and never sent anywhere. Hangar sends anonymous usage counts to improve the app, never file names or contents, and you can turn that off in Settings.
Yes. A license works on any mix of Mac and Windows computers. Solo covers 1 computer, Crew 3 and Fleet 10.
Then pay once, from $45, for every tool and the updates for your version. No subscription. 30-day refund.See plans
