How it works

How to convert HTML to PDF on Mac or Windows

  1. Add HTML files or paste a page

Keep each file next to its images, fonts and stylesheets, or paste a self-contained page.

  2. Check every page first

Preview & settings shows each page with zoom. Leave size and margins on From HTML, or set A4, Letter or your own.

  3. Create the PDFs

One set of settings covers every file in the batch. If an image or font is missing, the file stops so nothing goes missing silently.

New to Hangar? How to run a tool, step by step

Choose the page

Follow the page’s own layout, or set the paper yourself.

Well-made HTML often says its own page size and margins, and From HTML respects that. Pick a paper size when it does not, or Continuous page when breaks would split a layout.

  • From HTML

    Start here

Uses the size and margins the page asks for.

Best for invoices and reports with print styles.

  • A4 or Letter

Standard paper, whatever the page says.

Best for documents headed to a printer.

  • Continuous page

One long page with no breaks.

Best for newsletters and long web layouts.

Questions

Before you download

More answers in the help center.

Is it really free?

Every tool is free for 3 days, with no account and no card. After that, Hangar is a one-time payment from $45, with updates for the version you buy. There is no subscription.

Is the text in the PDF selectable?

Yes. The page is printed, not photographed, so the PDF keeps real, selectable text.

Can I convert a live website by its address?

No. Hangar converts HTML files and pasted HTML, and never loads anything from the internet. Save the page with its files first.

Can I paste HTML instead of opening a file?

Yes. Use Paste HTML and add a self-contained document with inline styles and embedded images. Pasted HTML has no folder beside it, so relative and remote files are unavailable.

Are images and fonts loaded from the web?

No. Remote resources are blocked, and by default a page that needs them stops so nothing goes missing silently. Keep images, fonts, and stylesheets in the same folder as the HTML file or in a folder inside it, or embed them in the page.

How large can the HTML file be?

The HTML itself can be about 16 MB and must be UTF-8 text.

Does it work on Windows?

Yes. On Windows it uses the system’s own web engine, so page breaks can differ slightly from a Mac. Check the preview before you convert.

Does anything get uploaded?

No. Your files are processed on your computer and never sent anywhere. Hangar sends anonymous usage counts to improve the app, never file names or contents, and you can turn that off in Settings.

Does one license cover Mac and Windows?

Yes. A license works on any mix of Mac and Windows computers. Solo covers 1 computer, Crew 3 and Fleet 10.
