Turn DRM-free EPUB, MOBI, AZW, FB2 and text books into clean PDFs you can print, mark up or archive. Pick the page size and type style, and every book in the batch is typeset with real, searchable text. Nothing is uploaded or downloaded while it converts.

How it works
Mix EPUB, MOBI, AZW, AZW3, FB2 and TXT in one batch. Books Hangar cannot read, such as Kindle KFX files, are set aside.
A4 or Letter to print, A5 or 6 × 9 for a book-sized page. Then Book, Modern or Compact, a text size from 9 to 18 pt, and the margins.
Open the first PDF with View. Each book becomes a PDF with the same name, with a cover, chapter breaks and page numbers unless you turn them off.
New to Hangar? How to run a tool, step by step
Choose the look
Every book is laid out again with Hangar’s own fonts and spacing, so it prints well and reads the same from book to book. The publisher’s design is not kept.
Classic serif text with indented paragraphs.
Best for novels and long reads.
Clean sans-serif text with space between paragraphs.
Best for guides, manuals and notes.
Tighter serif text that fits more on each page.
Best for printing long books on less paper.

The alternative
Online converters read far more formats than Hangar, and for one public-domain book they are fine. For your own manuscripts and private files, here is the trade.

Who uses it
Turn your own EPUB into a 6 × 9 PDF to read through and mark up.
Convert open-licensed textbooks into PDFs you can highlight in any reader.
Move a shelf of older MOBI and FB2 files into PDF for the archive.
One app, one payment
The same app merges, splits, signs, redacts and reads scanned PDFs, and does the same kind of work for images, video and audio. One payment covers every tool.
Save it as a chain
A batch of manuals becomes compact, password-protected PDFs in one run.
How chains workEvery tool is free for 3 days, with no account and no card. After that, Hangar is a one-time payment from $45, with updates for the version you buy. There is no subscription.
No, on purpose. Hangar lays the book out as a clean print edition with its own fonts and spacing. The publisher’s fonts, colors and decorations are not kept.
Many EPUB files carry their own cover as the first page. With Include cover on, Hangar adds one as well. Turn off Include cover and run the book again.
Not well. Fixed-layout books come out with the pictures and the text separated. Ebook to PDF is made for books whose text flows.
Yes. Hangar typesets the ebook text into the PDF, so it remains selectable and searchable.
No. DRM-protected books and Kindle KFX files are not supported. AZW and AZW3 files work when they contain unprotected MOBI-compatible content.
No. The book is read and typeset on your own computer.
No. Your files are processed on your computer and never sent anywhere. Hangar sends anonymous usage counts to improve the app, never file names or contents, and you can turn that off in Settings.
Yes. A license works on any mix of Mac and Windows computers. Solo covers 1 computer, Crew 3 and Fleet 10.
