Get reports, papers and product sheets into notes, a wiki or an AI tool as clean Markdown, with headings, lists and clear tables in reading order. Check any page against its text before you run. Every PDF is read on your computer, scanned pages included.

From the recording
1 file went in and Hangar wrote 1 file. It is the same run as in the recording, with the real names and sizes. Your originals are never changed.

How it works
Every PDF becomes its own Markdown file. Original PDFs exported from Word or a design app give the best result.
Open a PDF in the Studio to see each block numbered in reading order. Change a heading level, move a block or leave one out, then save that file.
Each .md file is saved to your output folder, with the PDF’s pictures as PNGs in a folder beside it, linked from the text.
New to Hangar? How to run a tool, step by step
Choose the output
Markdown keeps the shape of the document. Plain text keeps only the words, in reading order. Pictures can come along as PNG files either way.
Headings, lists, quotes and tables, saved as .md.
Best for notes apps, wikis and AI tools.
Just the words, in the order a person reads them.
Best for tools that do not read Markdown.
Pictures saved as PNGs and linked from the text.
Best for documents with photos or picture-based diagrams.

The alternative
For a quote or a paragraph, copying from your PDF reader is quicker. For a whole document, the structure is what gets lost.
Who uses it
Pull a paper into your notes app with its headings and lists intact.
Move a PDF manual into the team wiki without retyping it.
Hand clean Markdown to a tool on your own machine instead of uploading the PDF.
One app, one payment
The same app merges, splits, signs, redacts and reads scanned PDFs, and does the same kind of work for images, video and audio. One payment covers every tool.
Save it as a chain
Unlock the report and keep only the chapters you need. Then turn those pages into Markdown.
How chains workEvery tool is free for 3 days, with no account and no card. After that, Hangar is a one-time payment from $45, with updates for the version you buy. There is no subscription.
Yes. Pages with no usable text are read with text recognition, in English only in this tool. Turn off Pull out figures for scans, or every page is also saved as a picture.
On purpose. Text that repeats at the top or bottom of many pages is left out so it does not interrupt the text. You can bring a line back for one document in the Studio.
No. A run reads every PDF again from the start. Save a fixed document from the Studio with Save .md, or touch up the finished file with Edit.
No. Your files are processed on your computer and never sent anywhere. Hangar sends anonymous usage counts to improve the app, never file names or contents, and you can turn that off in Settings.
Yes. A license works on any mix of Mac and Windows computers. Solo covers 1 computer, Crew 3 and Fleet 10.
Then pay once, from $45, for every tool and the updates for your version. No subscription. 30-day refund.See plans
