Hide faces, names, number plates and account numbers in photos and screenshots before you share them. Draw over each area and choose blur, pixelate or a solid color. The change is burned into the saved copy, and nothing is uploaded.

How it works
JPG, PNG, WebP, BMP and HEIC open in the Redact Studio.
Use a rectangle, a rounded box, an ellipse or a freehand lasso, then pick Blur, Pixelate or Solid for each one.
Each image is saved as name-redacted, with photo info such as location removed by default.

Choose how to hide it
Blur and Pixelate keep the picture natural around the hidden area while the detail inside is gone. Solid covers it completely in black, white, grey or a color you pick.
A soft area where the detail used to be.
Best for faces and backgrounds in photos.
Coarse blocks of color.
Best for number plates and text on a screen.
A flat block of color.
Best for names, emails and account numbers in screenshots.
Every setting, explained in the Redact image guide Shape · Style · Strength · Colour · Remove photo info
The alternative
Any editor can draw a box over a name, and for one picture that can be enough. The risk is in the details: the file goes to someone else’s server, and photo info such as location can stay inside it.
Who uses it
Share a dashboard or inbox screenshot without showing real names and emails.
Hangar for marketers and content teamsBlur passers-by and number plates before a photo goes online.
Hangar for photographersCover account numbers and addresses before a screenshot goes into a ticket or a guide.
One app, one payment
The same app converts, compresses, resizes and cleans up photos, and does the same kind of work for PDFs, video and audio. One payment covers every tool.
A typical routine
Hide the private parts of each screenshot, then resize the copies and shrink them before they go into a help article.
Every tool is free for 3 days, with no account and no card. After that, Hangar is a one-time payment from $45, with updates for the version you buy. There is no subscription.
Not yet. Convert it to JPG or PNG first with Convert Images, then redact the copy.
Not yet. Boxes are drawn on each image, and images with no box are not exported.
No. Blur and Pixelate first reduce the area to coarse blocks of averaged color, so the detail is gone from the saved file, not just softened. Choose Solid to cover an area completely.
No. You draw each box by hand, so you decide exactly what is hidden. There is no automatic face or text detection.
Yes, by default. Remove photo info is on, which removes location, camera details and the hidden preview copy. If you turn it off, the location is kept.
No. Your files are processed on your computer and never sent anywhere. Hangar sends anonymous usage counts to improve the app, never file names or contents, and you can turn that off in Settings.
Yes. A license works on any mix of Mac and Windows computers. Solo covers 1 computer, Crew 3 and Fleet 10.
Then pay once, from $45, for every tool and the updates for your version. No subscription. 30-day refund.See plans
